The 1st Seoul International Piano Accompaniment Competition
Collaborative pianist: We focus on training pianists who work in collaboration with soloists.
- Categories and participation requirements will be separately announced
- No age restrictions
Face-to-face/Online Judging
- Date: October 5th, 2024 (Saturday) starting from 2:00 PM(*Subject to change)
- Venue: Rode Art Center Chamber Hall in Seocho-dong, Seoul (79, Nambusunhwan-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul, 317)
Prizes & Benefits
- Grand Prize
o Certificate awarded along with the opportunity to receive full grant for the winner’s recital and receive one masterclass lesson.
o Awardees will have their names posted on the online news article regarding their achievements, and their performance videos uploaded to a sponsor's YouTube channel.
o Exceptional awardees will receive a grant on 50% of the expense used for renting a well-known concert hall abroad when affiliated with the sponsor (서울 반주 아카데미 & 서울 영재 피아노 아카데미).
- All other prizes
o Certificate awarded, comments on the performance evaluation from the judges will be provided.
o Selected winners will have opportunities for additional performances, such as recitals and participation in masterclasses and seminars sponsored by the organizer.
o Opportunities to participate in music camps organized at home (Korea) and abroad (Europe, North America)
- Director’s Award: When 3 or more students are awarded
- Winner’s recital (*Further details to be announced)
- Master class for Collaborative Pianists (Scheduled for early October)
Eligibility
- Open to participants of all ages and nationalities
Application process
- Application Period: August 26th, 2024 (Monday) - October 2nd, 2024 (Wednesday)
- Repertoire categories (May choose more than one):
A. One lyrics song
B. Two lyrics song
C. One instrumental piece
D. Two instrumental piece
E. One piano (Solo) piece
- Repertoire: Maximum 3 pieces of your choice (Select the category number A-E on your application form)
- Judging: Judging panel composed of the highest authorities
- Application Fee: 130,000 KRW (for 1 piece: 130,000 KRW, 2 pieces: 150,000 KRW, 3 pieces: 180,000 KRW)

- How to apply: After._submitting the fee, download the application form from www.spianoacademy.com and send the completed application form to spianoacademy@gmail.com or text 010-4211-8130.
- Required d_ocuments:
o Attached photo of yourself (Passport photo size)
o A copy of your ID, student ID or certificate of enrollment
o Your name in both Korean and English, school, which grade you are in, phone number, and the title of your pieces in English.
Important Notices
- Participants must accompany their own soloist (If needed).(※ Please make sure to adhere to the competition schedule!)
- The judges may request to cut the selected pieces.
- Cancellations after October 2nd are non-refundable!
- Due to limited parking space, please use public transportation.
- Masterclass pianists and award winners are encouraged to participate in the competition.
- There will be an awards ceremony during the winners’ recital.
